Every Impression Counts, Especially Your Business Card

When I launched my lifestyle blog and brand last December, I will admit, I was a bit clueless. Who was I to be reinventing myself by starting a travel and lifestyle blog? I was full of fear and anxiety, but I’ve always taken the approach, start before you’re ready, and that included this new venture. So I dove into the entrepreneurial world, head first.

Once the initial anxiety calmed down and was replaced by excitement, I was eager to keep the momentum for my blog going. I had millions of tasks on my to-do list. Entrepreneur or not, I’m sure you can relate to that!

While I was focused on learning many things like WordPress, SEO, and coding, one of the things I viewed as less of a priority was high-end business cards. Boy, was I wrong about that!

When I went to my first networking event without business cards, I learned the hard way that every impression counts, including your brand’s business card. Each time someone asked me for a card, I had to tell them I didn’t have one. From the look on people’s faces, I knew I lost an opportunity to follow up and connect with someone.

While some people might say that business cards are irrelevant, I highly disagree. After attending multiple events this year, I realized that not only is it still the easiest way to give someone your contact details, but it also makes for a great first impression.

And so my hunt for the perfect business card began.

My Hunt for the Perfect, High-End Business Cards

When I first attempted to design my high-end business cards, I went with a big box store. Let’s just say, um yeah, that was a big mistake! While I did get my business cards quickly – I picked them up less than 24 hours later –the lack of design choices meant a business card that looked clunky and amateur. Even worse, the quality of the paper stock was flimsy and cheap. After this experience, I was determined to find a better option.

Thankfully, I discovered Basic Invite, an online stationery company that has helped me fulfill all of my stationery needs efficiently and quickly without sacrificing quality. Hurrah! I can’t tell you how happy I was to find an online business that is bursting with creativity. It made the task of selecting high-end business cards not only easy but downright fun.

How it Works

After my big box store fiasco,  I knew I wanted a design that would elevate my brand and maybe even get a few ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ when I hand them out at networking events. Basic Invite checked off all of these boxes.

With their business cards online feature, you have plenty of templates to pick from, or you can custom design your own. You can choose everything from the colors, fonts and paper stock, and you can even add foil if that’s your jam. (I did that for my wedding invitations and LOVED the effect.)

An added bonus, Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allows customers almost unlimited color options with instant previews online. These features aren’t just for high-end business cards, it’s for all of their invitation and stationery lines on the site.

Having the ability to play around with different color palettes and see previews of each design was super helpful for me because I have a very hard time making a decision. (Anyone else the same way?!) Even better, I got to do all of this from the comfort of my home, in my PJs. And let’s be real, who doesn’t love ordering things in their PJs while sitting cozily and comfortably on their couch?!

Right now Basic Invite is offering 15% off with coupon code: 15FF51. Consider it the adult version of a back to school sale.

I can’t resist a card that has my name on it!

Remember, It’s Never Too Early to Buy Holiday Cards

If you’re like me, and you’re already panicking about the holidays, which are just around the corner, Basic Invite has got you covered on that front too. Check out their holiday cards for tons of options. You can customize with family photos or choose from one of their many themes. Just don’t blame me if it puts you in the holiday spirit and has you playing Christmas music before we even get to Halloween!

While this post has been sponsored by Basic Invite, I only work with brands that I trust and use myself. All opinions here are my own. So, with that out of the way, happy shopping!
