The Monthly Round-Up: June 2019 Edition

Welcome to The Monthly Round-Up, a new feature on Let’s Be Merry where I share a list of things that I’m loving right now that might interest you too.

From thought-provoking articles and books (because I’m always reading!) to home décor, travel ideas, wellness products and more, these posts will include everything that’s on my radar. These might be discoveries I make while traveling abroad, or when I’m exploring closer to home.

I hope this monthly round-up inspires you to live your best life and thoughtfully surround yourself with the things you love. Because I believe everyone deserves a life where they are happy at home and abroad!

The Monthly Round-Up: June

I love the month of June. There’s something about the longer and warmer days that makes me happy inside and out. I try to get outdoors as much as possible to enjoy the gorgeous weather.

I kicked off the ‘unofficial’ start of summer with a Memorial Day weekend trip to Santa Fe, New Mexico. The last time I visited was 15 years ago! I’m so grateful I had the chance to come back to this city. It has one of the most spectacular settings of any place I’ve ever visited.

One of the highlights of my trip was hiking the Tent Rocks National Monument trail. It’s seriously one of the most epic hikes I’ve ever done. You must put this hike on your list if you make it to Santa Fe!

I included Santa Fe in my round-up of the best destinations for a girls’ weekend getaway and after just visiting a second time, this city is now at the top of my list!

Here are some other things I’m thinking about…

This show comes back for season two in one week. I can’t wait to see what happens.

I’m pretty happy at home right now with this dishware. It’s the perfect color for spring and summer entertaining.

Have you heard of Oneika Raymond? I had the honor of meeting her at TravelCon (an amazing travel conference founded by Nomadic Matt) last year. She’s one of my favorite travel influencers and bloggers because she keeps it real. Whether you spend time abroad or you’re more of an armchair traveler, she’s truly an inspiration.

Elizabeth Gilbert,  (of Eat, Pray, Love fame), has a new book coming out this week. Can’t wait to get my hands on it.

I love Mindy Kaling. I’m so excited to see her latest movie!

It’s official. The color marigold is my new favorite for summer. From shoes and dresses to nail polish, I’m hooked, so don’t be surprised if you see me wearing yellow all season long!

Are you a runner like me? If so, you’ll love this new marathon training program that’s just come out.

And when you finish those long runs (or even if you’ve had a leisurely day laying on the couch), indulge with these decadent and guilt-free brownies.

I am always reading a few books at once. Sometimes they are new releases, other times they are books that have been on my bookshelf for ages. Here’s what I read in May: Helping Me Help Myself, Shut Up and Run and The Overdue Life of Amy Byler.

Speaking of books, after visiting the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum in Santa Fe, (I highly recommend visiting), I started the novel, Georgia about the artist’s love affair with famed photographer Alfred Stieglitz. I’m loving it so far.

Want to start something new? How about painting?

I recently wrote a post about how it’s never too late to start something new. I’m glad to see some corroboration with this article in the WSJ of all places!

I want these chairs…now.

It’s June so my monthly round-up had to include my favorite outdoor bars in NYC. Also, take a peek at this list which includes the best old and new outdoor venues in Brooklyn to enjoy a cocktail in the sunshine.
